Circulating your Energy

I was first introduced to the idea of circulating your energy very early on in my practice.  It was my understanding that this was a way of healing myself, a way to to awaken my spiritual being and a way for me to connect on a deeper level with my partner.  I had read a book as to how to do it and I had been practicing it for several months when I met my teacher.  I thought I was doing it, I had no real way of knowing if I was successful at it or not.  He was quick to point out where I skipped over and where I was blocked.  I did notice the area that I jumped over but I had no way of correcting it.

You will want to sit in an upright posture breathing slowly, and begin to count your breath.  I like to breath the 3-5 breath.  Three on the inhale and 5 (or more) on the exhale.  Once your breathing  rhythmically, on the inhale lightly lift the pelvic floor, as you exhale release your pelvic floor slowly.  Do this a few times to get the flow down.  Next inhale and lift your pelvic floor lightly and picture a ball rolling up the back of your spine up to the top of your head.  As you exhale see the ball roll down the front of you, back down to your pelvic floor.  Again, inhale and lift your pelvic floor lightly and picture a ball rolling up the back of your spine up to the top of your head.  As you exhale see the ball roll down the front of you, back down to your pelvic floor.  As you inhale repeat the process, taking notice to where you feel stuck or where you skip over.  Don't try to do anything about it, just notice and let it happen.

Now, as you progress with this process you will notice that when the ball reaches the top of your head it spins (forward) or rolls like a drum and when it reaches the bottom it rolls again.  This builds a healing energy within you, and soon you become the pathway for the energy, your whole being becomes this great ball of energy that you can use for healing or performance in your life.  This is when the magic happens.

This is a form of meditation, and like any other form of meditation it takes practice.  As you get better with your own practice you can involve your partner.      This can create a strong bond between you, and it feels incredible too.  When you become more effective at this practice, you may notice that it becomes part of your being.  You are a great ball of energy that you can extend out to other people or to draw people to you.
